Tossing and turning at night wondering how the PPC industry is doing?
Good news – the highly-anticipated State of PPC Report for 2016-2017 is finally here!
Every year Hanapin publishes the Report with the mission of educating the PPC community with a resource, guide, and predictive analysis of the industry’s general attitude, plans and outlook for the next year. The Report contains statistics about growth in PPC spending, the most effective PPC channels in the industry and the social advertising trends that will help you make necessary adjustments to stand out in the ever-changing world of paid search. This year, we found a variety of trends that were either on par with current thinking or threw us a bit of a curve ball. Like this:
It’s no surprise that Text Ads are still the reigning champion of the most effective PPC channel, however, we were a bit surprised to see that display advertising was on the lower end of effectiveness for PPC advertisers. Even more surprising? Over 50% of advertisers are still not using programmatic advertising in their marketing mix. Of the ones that are, only about 30% found that it was not an effective marketing channel for them.
We also found some nice insights about social advertising. This area continues to thrive as a popular choice for advertisers, particularly in Facebook. Conversions are growing faster than CPCs on social, but on mobile and desktop, conversions are lagging.
These are just a few nuggets of wisdom you’ll find in the new State of PPC industry report. Along with the data, you’ll also find expert quotes and thoughts from the Hanapin team, as well as our predictions for 2017. We don’t claim to be fortune-tellers here, but we have pored over our research in order to recognize trends in the paid search world and help you plan for the future.
The State of PPC 2016-2017 will give you a clear understanding of where you stand in the paid search industry, and will provide a guideline as you plan your budgeting and expansion strategies for the upcoming year. You’ll get a sneak peek into estimating how much more you should be spending on different types of advertising, and which platforms need more of your attention.
