In the Philippines, the last 4 months of the year are lovingly referred to as the “Ber Months” and September 1 marks the first day of a long-awaited holiday season. For advertisers, it’s not much different. Even as Q3 comes to a close, companies have already started preparing for end-of-year holiday sales and innumerable promos to roll out in coming months.
Our friends over at Bing have been working hard to make this preparation as painless as possible. On Wednesday, they announced that the latest version of Bing Ads Editor will support bulk management for Shopping campaigns, Product Groups, and Product Ads.
Because we know you are busy with your own holiday preparations and finding optimization opportunities, we’ve put together a summary of what this update means for you in 4 different views:
1) Campaign Types Are Now Included In BAE’s Campaign View
BAE now permits both Search and Content and Shopping campaigns to be created within the app by including campaign type as a definable attribute for new campaigns. Within the campaign view, the addition of a Shopping settings tab also allows advertisers to link campaigns to their Bing Merchant Center Store ID.
2) Shopping Campaigns Can Be Imported From Google, Similar To Search And Content Campaigns
To save subsequent time and hassle, users should select the option to automatically associate the Bing Merchant Center Store ID upon import for Shopping campaigns.
3) Product Groups No Longer Require A Parent Product Group ID
(Yes, cheering is acceptable.) The product group field, as visible in BAE, contains the entire product group path for ease of management. This matches the Adwords Editor format, making it that much easier to apply updates across the two platforms.
Product group types, bids, and destination URLs can be edited within the app, while the product group field can be altered only through the “Make multiple changes” or “Import” features.
4) Product Ads Can Also Be Added And Maintained In BAE
A minimum of one product ad per ad group (and exactly one product group per ad group) is required for Shopping campaigns in Bing. Promotional text for product ads can be typed within the editor pane or uploaded in bulk.
We hope this update eases some of your pre-holiday stress and look forward to hearing your reactions. Tweet us to share your thoughts and comments!
