Last week, Google introduced the Shopping Assortment Report in Google Merchant Center to help plan product assortment and reach more shoppers online. It is an opportune time to roll out this report because retailers are increasingly interested in new opportunities to meet online customer demand, especially during the holiday season.
With the Shopping Assortment Report, you will be able to determine the top 100 products that you don’t offer in your product feed for each Google Product Category. You will also be able to see benchmark selling prices for these products. The data is based on the popularity of these products on Google Shopping, offering a view into online consumer demand for products.
With this new information from the Shopping Assortment Report, you can now identify key products that are missing from your feed. It allows you to identify popular products you do sell, but may not have included in your data feed, or may have the incorrect GTIN associated with the product. As well as identify popular products you currently do not sell, but may wish to source from suppliers and add to your product feed.
